Laura Paglin

Laura Paglin

Laura Paglin has been producing and directing films since she was a teenager in Portland, Oregon. Her nostalgic comedy/drama feature, NightOwls of Coventry, tells the tale of cultural turf warfare in the 1970’s, where a seedy all-night deli is the "theatre of battle". NightOwls recently opened theatrically in Toronto and continues to play throughout Canada. Her most recent short documentary, No Umbrella – Election Day in the City, is a street level view of the 2004 Election Day debacles. No Umbrella premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival where it simultaneously entertained and enraged audiences. Now Paglin is in production on Java Wars, a feature documentary about three hippie entrepreneurs who plot to take over the country’s largest drug cartel – coffee.
